Tentative Itinerary

DAY 1 – OVERNIGHT FLIGHT

We begin our journey across the pond with an overnight flight to London

DAY 2 – LONDON

Welcome to London!  Fight that jet lag and come on a walking tour of one of the greatest cities in the world! You’ll see Big Ben and the houses of Parliament, Trafalgar Square, the Thames River, the famous London Eye ferris wheel, and others.  In the evening, enjoy some of London’s local cuisine (Indian, fish and chips).

DAY 3 – LONDON

After transferring and arriving at our hotel, we will travel into the city to see the Tower of London. This is the famous armory and royal prison, home to some of the most famous executions in history – including Henry VIII’s second wife, Anne Boleyn. Nearby, we will visit the Tower Bridge, including the brand new skywalk, recently featured in Spiderman: Far From Home.

DAY 4 – LONDON

Hop on one of London’s famous double decker buses to go visit Westminster Abbey, site of royal weddings and burials of kings, queens, prime ministers and notable scientists. Nearby we’ll take a close view of the Houses of Parliament, including the Clock Tower (Big Ben), which is freshly renovated. Later, we will take a boat tour down the Thames River, and visit St. Paul’s Cathedral, the 3rd largest church in Europe

DAY 5 – LONDON / OXFORD

One of the world’s first university towns, Oxford has a thousand years of history to walk through. See medieval libraries, beautiful parks  Enjoy an authentic pasty for lunch. Stay overnight in Oxford or Stratford upon Avon (1 hour away)

DAY 6 – LEEDS

Travel to Leeds 140 miles (2hrs 45mins).We will drive north to  Leeds to visit the Royal Armouries Museum. This is one of the oldest museums in the world, and home to all types of medieval and early modern armor and arms.

DAY 7 – SALTAIRE VILLAGE/ HAWORTH VILLAGE

Only a short drive away is the cozy villages of Saltaire Village and Haworth village. Saltaire village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its Italianate architecture, rich history, shops and great food.  In Haworth Village, we’ll visit the Bronte Parsonage, where the Bronte sisters wrote some of the greatest literary works in the English language.

DAY 8 – SALTAIRE VILLAGE/ HAWORTH VILLAGE

Saltaire was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2001. It was recognised for its international influence on town planning. It was also considered to be an outstanding example of a mid-nineteenth century model town that demonstrates the social and economic impact of the textile industry.

DAY 9 – YORK

We will drive about an hour to the northern English city of York. Here we’ll walk through a medieval city and walk on walls originally built during the Roman empire. 

DAY 10 – YORKSHIRE DALES NATIONAL PARK

About a 2 hour drive away is the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There’s nothing more quintessentially English than seeing the hills, valleys, villages, moors and dales. Bring your walking shoes today, because we take a walk through Malham, including the top of Malham Cove. Channel your inner wizard or witch as Malhalm (including Malham Cove) is where much of the final Harry Potter film was made.

DAY 11 – RETURN TO LONDON

When you arrive back  in London you will have an afternoon to see some of the greatest museums in the world. Today you will have the opportunity to  visit the Natural History Museum, Science Museum, British Museum, or National Gallery, depending on tour group preferences. We can also tour the rebuilt Globe Theatre, made to look just as it did during the Elizabethan period when Shakespeare’s plays were originally produced. Other options for today include the London Bridge Experience or the London Zoo along with a visit to the unique Camden Town.

DAY 12 – HOME SWEET HOME

Flight back to the United States.
